Sponsorship of orphan foal Bunny will help support his rehabilitation and care. Bunny is an orphan foal who was found 18th April 2022. He was found on a mountain less than 24 hours old, being thrown to the ground by a stallion and was too young to be away from his mum. His mum couldn’t be found and given his larger size compared to the foals normally born on that common, we feel he may have been dumped. Initial blood tests revealed he had received no colostrum from his mum, meaning he had no antibodies to fight off infection. He had to stay in a sterile environment on long term antibiotics, with around the clock care until he could start making his own antibodies at 5 weeks old. Bunny will be safe for life and receive all that he needs to thrive and grow up into a healthy pony.
Sponsorship of orphan foal Bunny, helps provide vital funds to care for up to 30 horses and ponies on our farm. Please note, we choose to place certain ponies on our sponsorship scheme because they are likely to stay at the Trust for some time. However, if they have the chance of a loving suitable home, we wont pass it up . You will be able to come and visit your sponsored animal on Open Day’s and at other times by arrangement. Sponsorship helps us raise vital funds to continue our work rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing horses, ponies and donkeys. These equines are often the victims of neglect, cruelty, abandonment and poor circumstances.
