Description
Maggie is an orphan foal who was found being attacked by other ponies on a South Wales mountain. Another charity rescued her and asked if we could take her. Maggie is doing well, a blood test revealed that she hasn’t had colostrum so needed a plasma transfusion. It is likely that she was born to a very young filly, who probably didn’t have the motherly instinct to take care of her or bond. Maggie is now being fed mares replacement milk by our small dedicated team, this happens every hour during the day and every two hours overnight.
Sponsoring our rescues helps provide vital funds to care for up to 30 horses and ponies on our farm. Please note that while we place ponies on our sponsorship scheme because they are likely to stay at the Trust for some time, if they have a the chance of a loving home, then they will be rehomed.
