Riding or Driving Ponies

We don’t always advertise all of our available horses and ponies so if can’t see your new equine best friend on here, please do contact us to see if we have one suitable.

If you are interested in offering a long-term guardian home to any of our horses and ponies please fill in a Lluest Loan Application Form and post it back to us or alternatively please email equine@lluesthorseandponytrust.co.uk. For more information on our Guardianship Scheme call 01550 740661

Du – is our very own Black Beauty! He is a very handsome 15.1hh, 21-year-old Welsh gelding. He was rescued in 2016 when his lifelong owner passed away. He is looking for an experienced home as a light hack as he is a forward going and lively ride.

We are very fond of Du, but we are desperately hoping he will find his forever home soon. Having been in a one-horse home, life at Lluest can be a little busy for Du and he would love a one-to-one relationship as he really enjoys being spoilt.

Cothi is a 12.2hh, 4-year-old coloured gelding who was rescued at the foot of his dam from a round-up on Manmoel common in 2014. He has been well handled throughout his life at Lluest and has recently been in a foster home to learn more about life and become a ridden pony. He walks, trots and canters and will hack alone or in company. Cothi can display riggy behaviour when turned out with mares and for this reason needs a home where he can be turned out with geldings only.
Lyra –  is a 6-year-old 13.2hh cob mare. She has a placid laid-back nature and is good to handle in all ways. Lyra is not easily spooked and has the potential to become a bombproof and safe ridden pony. She has been lightly backed and is continuing her education until she finds a lovely home. She is currently turned out in a mare’s group and is happy to live in or out.
Thomas – (rehomed) a stunning 15.1hh gypsy cob gelding, 11 years old. He was rescued in 2016 when his elderly owner went into a nursing home. He is good to catch, groom and for the farrier. He was lightly backed here at the Trust in 2016 and hasn’t done very much since so would benefit from more schooling but he is accomplished in three paces and is a gentle soul. He has recently been returned through no fault of his own but the guardian’s ill health.

We are looking for an experienced home for Thomas with more than one companion and good fencing.
