Our open days for 2010 - our 25th anniversary year are as follows. Sunday 6th June and Saturday 18th September from 11am - 4pm. We would very much appreciate it if you could please save your unwanted Christmas presents for raffle or tombola prizes. Home made items such as preserves or knitted toys would also be most welcome. If you would like to get involved or come along and help please let us know. We hope to see you!! The Easter Monday open day was well attended and the sun did exactly as ordered and showed its face and the rain kept away. Spangle chose the perfect time (just three days previous) to decide to show her little foal to the World. She produced a very large filly foal, black apart from a white blaze and some white socks. By half way through the day the little foal had become brave enough to greet visitors through the fence, although 'Mum' kept a very close watch and reprimanded her if she felt uneasy. We held a 'name the foal' feature and two names were pulled out of the 'hat'. The first name was Callie and the second Coco, so we have named the little girl Lluest Callie-Coco. Maybe she will eventually become Calico for short. Unfortunately the Clicker Training demonstration planned and practiced by Emma and our young Zorro had to be postponed because the little lad contracted pneumonia just 6 days before. Thankfully by the day he was on the road to recovery although still not looking like our usual bright and cuddly Zorro. The dog show was the usual huge attraction, and together with that and many stalls, a wood-turner, face painter, a lady spinning, pony rides and games, all manned by our wonderful volunteers we managed to raise approx £2,600. So a great big Thank You to everyone who planned, helped and attended on the day.
The wood-turner is a great attraction.
The dog show thanks to the sun, this year being held in the school and Humphrey keen to play his part in welcoming visitors.
Zac has other ideas and continues to feed his face.
